I stumbled across the Love and London blog while planning my 10-day trip to London last year. I was thrilled to see that they offered planning guides and itineraries but was a little hesitant about the cost. However, since I didn’t have a lot of time, I purchased the Casual Tourist guide, figuring it would give me some off-the-beaten-path suggestions that I wouldn’t necessarily find on my own.
Wow. The guide was incredibly organized and beautifully laid out. It was MUCH longer than I expected. As a technical writer, the thought and attention to detail put into the document blew me away. I immediately went back and bought the six-day itinerary.
Once again, I was floored by the organization and the wealth of information packed into each day’s itinerary. It’s important to note that each guide offers FAR more than a single day’s worth of sightseeing—unless, of course, you’re not planning to actually stop and visit anything (and unless you can teleport!). We only visited a fraction of the places listed in the six-day guide, so we have plenty to look forward to on our next visit!
If it’s your first visit to London, I highly recommend the itinerary. I loved that the itineraries included recommended routes to help you plan your visit based on what places are close to each other, as well as tips for the best days to go, etc. This was the part of planning I was kind of avoiding, so it saved me a lot of time! We saved the itineraries to our phones so we could refer to them when our plans changed (always check websites for random closures!!), making it so easy to swap "this half of Day 3" with "that half of Day 2," based on where we were. (As an aside, the six-day itinerary mentions most of what's included in the Casual Tourist guide, so you don't need both. I suggest the itinerary if you're new to London and want information about touristy locations and recommended routes, but you may prefer the Casual Tourist guide if you've visited the city before. You may also like the Casual Tourist guide if you purchase a shorter itinerary and want to supplement it with additional off-the-beaten-path tips.)
The Notion guides are also genius. I'd never used Notion before, and now it’s my new favorite thing! We organized all of our planned activities based on date availability, and throughout the trip, we were able to shift things around easily while referring to the Notion guides, maps, and other saved resources. I’ll never travel without it again.
I also want to thank you for all of the brilliant suggestions that I never would have found on my own. We were able to get tickets to the Ceremony of the Keys (incredible, especially on our last night in the city!), and we spent a fun-filled afternoon on the Bermondsey Beer Mile. The locals were so surprised when they chatted with us, as not many Americans visit that spot. We absolutely adored it, and it was the perfect way to spend one of our last afternoons in London.
The Love and London itineraries made our trip an absolute breeze. I’ll be recommending them to everyone I know who visits. Thank you so much!
